About Us

Chess is taught as a school subject in many foreign countries, including Russia, Germany, Japan and Canada, to name a few. In America, chess has always been around, but has been a sport that many have not latched on to. Even though there is an increase in chess at the school age level and more after school chess clubs, there is still quite a gap of children that know how to play chess versus those that do not.

This is how Chess2Children became a reality!

Chess2Children was officially founded in 2008. With (3) young children in the public school system, the founder was always very involved in the school system and the community as a coach.  Due to the efforts to grow the enrichment program and his passion to allow his children to see the world differently, he started the first ever chess club in 2007 at Nickajack Elementary, with the hopes of having 10 students.  We taught over 65 students that year, and have grown ever since!   Our main focus is keeping the children safe in the classroom environments, while enriching their minds with the strategies of chess.

Our instuctors and coaches are not only exceptional chess players themselves, but they have a passion for sharing their knowledge with children.   They have years of chess playing experience, tournament experience, and thirst for continuing to improve.  All of our instructors pass an in-depth background check before starting.
